Hey all
What a FANTASTIC time we had!
We were very well looked after at Frazers tackle Shop, bought a penn reel and boat stick, and loads of bits \'n pieces. Then, the next day, off to North Shields to meet the Sarah JFK.
I got the boat record - A Pouting the same size as the hook!
My pal got a \"legal\" 2lb codling and a \"Foul Hooked\" 2lb Codling.... but what a fantastic day we had.
The weather, sea, boat, company, Craic (pronounced Crack, ie fun) was absolutely superb. Alan the skipper certainly knows his stuff.
Wercking in the North east is totally different from Wrecking off the South Coast. Your wrecks all seem to sit on mud and therefore once you have passed the werck there are no fish. Also the terminal tackle that is used in the NE is well dfferent, (2 daylights with squid and 12 oz lead)
Off Poole most of the wrecks seem to sit on a sandy bottom. Once you have passed the wreck there is still plenty of fish around to keep you amused. We also use 6 foot traces coming from the swivels. A whole different way of fishing.
We really had a brilliant time, all added to by a bloke on board called Norman. Talks and Drinks for Tynemouth
All I can say my friends is... Thank you for all your help in getting us behind a rod. I WILL stay an active member of NESA and look forward to helping anyone who wants to try out fishing on the South Coast.
