Wanted Best place for a kids river fishing setup

Can anyone advise me on where is best to go to get a starters setup for me son hes 11 on tuesday and wants fishing gear for his birthday am not after anything special incase he doesnt take to it, its been years since i last fished aswel so am abit clueless, Would be looking to go and buy it tomorrow so local to ne32 would be great.
