My attitude is and always was for this only to be correct
im sorry if ive come accross as argumentative but a forum is for debate and to learn
im shure we have all learnt something regarding rocklings so in my opinion the species hunt on the whole has benefited
no hard feelings as yes its only a fish and a bit of fun
happy hunting!
So far as people commenting on fish not lip hooked, there are a couple of photos on here where there is clear foul hooking damage on the body of peoples fish...there are some people who will try and submit these as legitimate fish but im also aware that even if a fish takes a hook in its lip then a flailing hook can still sometimes catch them in the side making it appear foul hooked even when not...
I think if Pete says its lip caught then its lip caught.... there has to be an element of trust here.... (even if its a fluke that it ended up in its mouth!)
It looks like a small sand eel to me Pete. I will put it down as a lesser sandeel which is another point for you.
Pete, I caught a few of those tiny sandeels the other day mate, defo sandeel, just really really small. Had two balanced across my treble on a spinner hahaha, quite funny.

Lesser sand eel. Not sure though?
Thanks Mike but I'll withdraw that one as I'm not sure what kind of sandeel it is, it was one of the fellas on end of pier said it was a whatever. Yes I do think its a small sandeel, but for arguments sake wipe this one out, sure I'll get a lesser sandeel again if that's what they are.
Have you got a picture of it's tail mate?
