I'm back. Fish added lads. No new species for me but I did catch a load of pollacks

Toonboymc, that looks like two coalies and a sea scorpion. It doesn't look like a pollack in the photo the lateral line looks straight (it's curved in a pollack). Do you have a better photo?

Welcome to the table Dacky2491. The second pic is a flounder - you can see the line of bony lumps along the back, a dab does not have those.

Thanks Mike I'll remember that one for the next time, can't tell the difference sometimes as there is not a lot between them. I have had a lot more that I have pictures of but left my card at home because I could not download them, now I wish I had off taken it with me lol.

hagfish mog that one i posted was in a tangled mess when i caught it so i would agreed with you but i had the unpleasant pleasure of getting another one that was well and truly caught in the mouth so seems they can take a hook in the sucker mouth. but i know where you are coming from lost count of the traces i have had coming back in a tangled mess of slimy sand

for whats its worth,Hagfish are not actually a fish they are grouped with lamprey try finding either on the british record fish commitee lists ....

The easy way for you to confirm a dab when you are fishing is to run your finger along it's back. It will feel rough in one direction and smooth in the other. Hope that helps.
