because i want to no who is winning the tournaments on a weekend looking at the nesa results i would say its s anderson because he uses the heavier lead and line yet joe blogs gets first place using a lighter line and sinker confusing isnt it. hope its getting through now .how can a man using light line which casts further wi n a tourny if theres oly a yard or 2 between him and the blok.e using the heavy stuff
Because Stevie Anderson can use the 125g on .28 and has been adapting his casting to suit, and is showing his ability to step up and do it on these line's and leads!
Try it yourself, you may like it!:D:D:D

you have to move with the times if we didnt we'd all still be using greenheart rods and scarborough reels,it doesen't matter what size lead you use you still have to have style and technique.anybody can muddle there way through with the heavier leads but it takes a lot more skill to cast the lighter leads timing has to be spot on and knowing when to put the power in is an art in itself to fast to soon and your out of court or youve got a face full of line.
rod and reel technology has come a long way so why shouldnt casting if you want to stay in the past then thats you perogative but dont expect everybody else to stand still i dont think it matters what lead you cast the winner will allways be the better caster on the day.

s anderson like a lot of others are being forced in to it to compete with lesser casters .i have tried other lads set ups and found my distance was up with the light line lead combo but i thought i was trully cheating on myself i would never fish with it so why cast it

125 is very beneficial to you thats why you support it .and the best caster isnt winning on the day thats the hole point of this debate

Hang on, so Stevie lad is bieng forced into it, its wrong? What if i'm forced into using heavy gear is that wrong as well?;)
Can you possibly see outside the bubble?

The words contradictary spring to mind, but only if you see it from both sides!;)

what a load of b******s ive cast all weights on .35 and still have the records to prove it and the lighter lines and i still cast the 175 and 150 when the conditions dictate come out of the dark ages man.

Hmmmmmmm "Bullet" is this yet another alias ?
strange you should say that bob, -- a few are thinking along the same lines. if it is, its time admin stepped in to stop the crap stirring, if it is,nt [which i doubt] i apologise ;););)

as for not using the lighter leads for fishing, what do you think the blue impact leads are? they are 125 gram and i have been using them for fishing when conditions allow and they go very nicely, i use 0.31 or so ultima f1 for fishing. pretty close to what we use at the tournaments. maybe you dont use anything like the light leads for fishing but i know i do!

i thought this was a debate and baz you dont chuck the heavy stuff any more and as i said 125 is very beneficial to you

As it is beneficial to everyone else that does not feel up to the biggies!;)
Bazz is probs bieng a bit past 21yrs old feeling happier casting the 125g, Whats wrong with that?;)
He'll still put leads past you now, never mind in 1989!:D:D:D

Don't need admin old chap, were only debating the modern and older casting scene!;)
Things have changed, for the better!;)
if the poster is who we think he is, he is breaking forum rules by having multiple accounts. if it definately is him, he has tried to destroy casting at nesa many times. admin should skin him

you want to get your facts right m8 i use as many leads on the day as i can from the 175 to the 50 grm just because you see in the results longest cast 125 doesent mean i use the same sinker all day like i said the conditions dictate the lead and ive taught my son to do the same thing

your a paranoid old chap i am not trying to destroy casting at all i would just like to see it the way it was which i think was a fairer system. baz what do you get your best distances on these days maybe you can throw 175 but you throw 125 further

like i said conditions dictate the lead check back in the results youl see ive chucked the 150 further than the 125 on some occasions it seems pretty obvious to me you use the lead you think will go the furthest otherwise why bother going we all want to cast as far as we can thats why its called distance casting.tournament casting has come a long way since i started and has developed into a new sport

And what do you get your best distances on BULLET?:;) Come down and chuck, and a lot of lads will chuck the same weight and diameter line as yourself, me included! (even the 175g if it makes you happy!):D

so are you saying people like alan varley are lesser casters? i dont know much about him but i would put money on him being pretty good whichever lead he chose to use!
