What one north Whitley Bay or south Souter can? by all accounts the fishing is hard going all over but it could switch on like a light any day 
I am given it oen more week before trying my luck.

the water is like choclate out there off that big blow we had and theres still more to come so it will take a while to clean the water up thats for sure

The Can off Whitley Bay mate, well if it's canny tomorrow I'll go off and see if anything is doing .. I'll report if anything is doing

It was flat as a mill pond tonight and a couple of ‘yakers were out there so we may see a report. There's still a lot of colour in the water though so take some bait.

there not need any more the range is decommissioned . the pipe end buoy has been taken away last year

Hi "beano",
I was fishing in my boat yesterday around the yellow can area, and despite the excellent sea conditions, the fishing was very poor indeed. Between two of us all we caught were 3 x pouting, one wrass and one cod (2lbs) Used bait all the time, and anchored and drifted over various areas. Unfortunately bites were few and far between.
This area has always attracted crab and lobster potters, but yesterday there were quite a few NETS here as well.
One incident that concerned me however was when I seen a commercial boat heading straight towards me. "He must be coming to ask us if we've caught anything" I thought to myself. However at the last minute he veered away, and I could see he was setting his net not more than about 10 yards from my boat ! I have NO DOUBT in my mind at all, this was done deliberately to get us to move as he knew we would quickly drift over the net and snag our gear.
I have defended commercial fishermen on this site on a few occasions as I realise it is their livelyhood, but this action did nothing to build harmony with anglers and commercial fishermen.

Well the weekend is not looking great, i am having a late start and heading out at 9am but i feel it maybe just close in or a short trip with that north wind blowing.
Missed my window of oppurtunity the other day so that's me for awhile now as moving house looms
we was all spoilt with the lovely weather a few weeks back ... Goodluck if you venture out but be careful as the sea is coming away alot now Steve

Well never mad it out today just up the river and back it was wild as expected really, my word £109 to fill the tank from the red line, that was the biggest shock.
You can tell the fishing is still poor and weather bad, no one has landed a fish of any size worth keeping for the Royal Quays comp yet and we are into day 14 of it!!!!
