Buy a standard 30mm Fuji DPS seat and a single coaster. Unscrew the winch fitting, slide the coaster over the reel seat then secure upside down where it will go near the non-moving foot of the reel seat. using a junior hack saw cut a groove either side of the coaster as close as you can get. Turn the coaster right side up (and of course replace the winch fitting) and hey presto you have a totally secure, top quality home made sliding reel seat
That's a cracking idea, I've already got a coaster so I just need to but the reel seat. I think I'll pop down to rutherfords this week for one. Thanks for that
I spent a fortune on the Fuji sliding reel seats from UK Hooks until I figured out how simple it was to make one myself. And it really is that simple. If you are not sure where to put the coaster / cut the grooves just take a look at one of the Century seats and you will see how they work
Don,t know if this is of help but just been reading Glasgow angling center sea brochure .there,s an Abu Garcia GRIP LOCK SLIDING REEL SEAT on page 47. only trouble is the largest is 27.8mm. its priced at £12 99. hope you get fixed up
