The winner of the competition was Steve Williams who fished South Shields pier, with 4 fish to 8lb 10oz and received £150, second was Steven O'Hagan with a personal best cod of 8lb 2oz taken from Seaton Sluice Beach, receiving, £82 and third was Jimmy French with a cod of 7lbs 4oz taken from South Shields Groyne, receiving £48. There were 29 entries for the Heaviest Single Fish and the winner was Steven O'Hagan with a cod of 8lb 2oz, receiving £15.50, second was Jimmy French with a cod of 7lb 4oz, receiving £11 and third was Steven Williams with a cod of 3lb 8oz, receiving £5.50.
