Just out of curiosity....... If I walked into a scrap yard and asked for some lead..How much roughly would he charge me for it....say 50kg?
Not that I am likely to I buy my sinkers and try to keep the local economy healthy.

.possibly £1 10p a kg.

It varies from £1 to £1.30 per kilo when I've bought it.

thanks for the info...... i'm still not buying any far too old and lazy for that malarky. I used to do it as kid by pushing a broom handle into the garden to make hole then push the wire into the bottom of the hole.Until I tried re-using an old hole and found out molten lead and rainwater don't mix.
Since then I have bought them.
