HELP! anyone know how to. . . .

Why does it always happen when its -5 or peeing down with rain or worse still when you are on your todd.
It happened to ME on Sunday, there was only me and the bairn he was frozen solid to Blyth Pier and i was effing and blinding at the rod,i gave up and put it over my back when i got off the pier i tried again and to my relieve it parted with a nice \"ploop\".

This is getting VERY interesting!! What are we trying to do??? :D From what we have read Wor Lass is getting VERY excited :P :P but knowing my luck it wont happen :casstet: ( push it in pull it out sounds like your trying to seperate 2 ,1/2s of a rod) but naa that never happens........ ADVICE from my old man----- B4 joining the 2 parts of your rod together \"Rub the male part of the rod in your hair\" this will give a slight lubricant and your rod halfs will seperate easely??? (She is getting excited again Im off 2 bed ) :P \"\" I DONT BELIEVE IT SHE HAS FALLEN ASLEEP\"\"\" I told you it itwould nt happen keep on pulling its the only way?????

sorry tich but thats a belter lmfao.. :D

To be totally honest Ithink the old man was talking about the old brass furrells,, a little lube or greace from your hair stopped them locking together and helped stop corrosion I think..??????!!!!!!!

put your left hand on the top end of the rod and your right hand on the bottom and your mate to do the opposite and both twist in different directions you now have double the torque on the spigot and that should do the trick somebody showed me that that trick on a brand new cono-flex highlander i thought i,d f****d it i,ve waxed the spigots on my rods every so often ever since

Never really had a major problem where i\'ve been totally f###ed and could\'nt part it,i\'ve been close a few times,
Just out of interest is there a specific wax you can buy or is it normal candle wax ?

i just use ordinary candlewax it seems to bee ok 1 member of my club once had the same problem and had to snap it over his knee no choice couldn,t get it in the car snapped it right at the spigot and got it repaired later on somebody bored the top half out of the bottom half and rewhipped it it was perfect only four inches shorter with a £300 cono-flex rod what choice do you have you can,t leave it lying on the pier can you another tip when you get a new rod rub the male part of the spigot with wet and dry so it,s not too tight

If its an old rod, best get the wife to hit the joint with a hammer as you hold the rod, making sure she does this with a firm whack. Make sure you are watching, as the rod beaks and it will, lay the guilt trip on her and explain there is only one thing for it, a New Century/Zziplex, you understand it wasn’t really her fault but all the same you can’t be without a rod.
If by some chance it separates your one of the unlucky ones ;o)

Finally got it free today!Tried all the suggestions on here with no luck, but John Bohill at I.D got it free using this sticky latex stuff to get a good grip!
Cheers again for all your suggestions.

My Mate geordie has just got his sorted with the same method, rubber mat to give better grip.

That\'s my thinking with the rubber gloves or rubber inner tube solution.

Whenever Mrs Hughes can\'t open a jar or bottle, I ask for the kitchen gloves to help get a better grip. I\'ve also used the rubber glove trick on stubborn metal ferruled rods. Oh yes, you don\'t have to wear them just wrap them round whatever your trying to undo.
