Headed down to Blyth pier for about 8 am just for a few hours. I just wanted to try out my new Yuki Pro Surf really. Set up on the end, Yuki with a 2 hook flapper loaded with crab and mackeral lobbed out and a free Sea Angler magazine rod with a 3 hook flapper with size 2 hooks with tiny slithers of mackeral which i dropped just over the end as close to the pier structure as i could without snagging. From the off both rods were bouncing but only pulling in very undersized fish (coalies and grannyfish). The wind was blowing quite strong but with how sensitive the tip of the Yuki rod is you could see every little nibble and bite, a very small Dab made it look like there was a Cod hitting the bait. A quality rod! Overall I caught about 15 fish in a 3 hour period with only one sized a Coalie at about 1lb (caught just down the side). Packed up once I got crowded out by the Maccy bashers. Overall a good little session.
(Didnt bother with pics lads as there was nothing that exciting)
One more point that pier is a disgrace, large chunks of wood burnt away were people have set it on fire and the amount of rubbish is unreal. I wouldnt be suprised if before long the public are banned from fishing on there or a gate is put up. It can be a good little venue but you get alot of ****s on there which is a shame. Rant over!
