Good fishing marks for the bairn

Just about to take my 8 years old night fishing for the first time - he's been trout fishing on nice summer days a few times with me and loves it so has been pestering me for a while but I usually fish rock marks and beaches which he's not old enough for.

So, having just been reading about the walkway I was thinking - any suggestions for safe and accessible marks north of the Tyne where there is a decent chance of a codling for him. Walkway looked to me like a sensible option although I've never fished it myself other than where the old Vidor plant jetty was many many years ago.

I'd rather not fish a pier but if there's nowt else will take him to Amble or the like

Marc, got your message mate. Not sure if you got my reply as the sent messages facility seems to be cocking up on my pc but in case you didn't just wanted to say I appreciate the detailed reply. Nice one.

Yeah got your reply mate, as Waco has mentioned there are plenty of places to try! Most of the river marks are fenced aswell for a bit extra piece of mind. Best of luck to you and the nipper! Hope he kicks your ass haha :D

Cheers for the reply mate. Going to get him out next week hopefully when the tides start slacking off and there's not as much wind. Got some good options now.
