Fishing terminology

A "plop" - a short cast
A "bray" - a big cast
A "snake" - a big whiteworm
A "fresh / frozen pie" - a nice big fresh / frozen crab
A "donkey's knob" - a nice big lugworm
A "Gorgon's Head" - a big crab bait with a handful of lugworms lashed around so it looks like...a gorgon's head
"Pulled it's head off" - got a bit eager trying to get a fish in too fast & losing it
"Deein' the dance" - those involuntary jigging leg movements that often occur when reeling in a fish
"Clemmies" - rocks & boulders, often slippery when clambering over them
"Weirs / cabbage / veg" etc...- kelp beds
"Plum" - a clueless angler, as in "the pier was full of plums".....
I'm sure I'll think of some more.....

Time to bump up. Mods can you please make this thread a sticky? Would be great to have the final findings on the site somewhere. I'm going to categorise them when I get the time but I have just updated the list so far at the top.

Blaster - A really poweful big chuck
Not a sniff - Not even any bites, bait coming back as it went out.
Feeding the crabs - No fish around, bait eventually getting chomped by the crustaceans
