Got out of the landings at Hartlepool about noon and went to the spoil grounds with the intention to anchor and uptide fish. Had a trial drift due to the big tides and the drift was not too bad so decided to fish downtide on the drift. We fished for 3 hours on the spoil grounds on guy jigging, one bait fishing and me and the skipper using shads. We had a dozen cod to 5lb (threw back loads of under sized cod), loads of whities, a box full of mackeral and a foot long sqid. The whities went to the guy bait fishing who had no cod. the guy jigging had 3 cod with the remainder going to the blue shads. We must have lost at least 2 dozen cod each just after the take or whilst winding up on the shads.

good day was had by all.

I,ve just rang John on Maggie May. We are going to give it a go tomorrow.
Hopefully the weather will hold. I,ll let you know how we get on.

Mick.

Nice to see people still getting out :)

I have not fished the boats this late on for 3 years now but with all the west winds we have had of late maybe i will.

Good one Jason.
