It did not start well.

I had spoken to Amble Angling Centre the previous Thursday and ordered bait, I was told they'd be open for 7.30am. Got there at 7.20am, waited until 7.45am and no one showed up. So no bait except a small tray of prawns, thanks a f***ing lot

We left on the Red October just before 8am, ten rods in total on board. Off we went to the hard ground a little further South.

Lots of undersize codling coming in, taking Hokkais, daylights and muppets.

It went quiet for a while then about 10.30am it picked up again. I changed to bouncing Shads and Eddystone Eels (was running out of prawns) and was into some better quality fish (best 5lb) and another dozen or so undersize returned.

My mate had a decent cod on baited daylights and returned many more along with a Coalie and a Whiting (two species he's never caught before).

Lots of fish landed and lots more returned. I kept six fish and my mate one.
Top marks once again to the Skipper Martin who regularly put us over the fish.

Someone mentioned that they'd seen Tony from Amble Angling Centre on the drink on Saturday night in Amble. Nothing wrong with that, but if he'd told me earlier, I'd have got bait on Saturday.

Lucky for me the water was clear and the lures where working.

I took heavier gear this time, 30lb - 50lb class rod with 30lb braid - I only lost seven cannonballs and two traces, two Shads and two Eels, getting better :D
