Early Xmas PB on rainy Roker

Me and mad rob fancied a last session before Xmas so headed off to roker . it was lashing down but we persisted there was quite a few on
Used my spinfisher and ultegra both with braid and hated it so changed over to my new saltist BG 30H with mono
rob had 3 whiting and I had a baby ling or conger or sprat lol and a starfish
we eventually got to the bunker with only us left on we were soaking but kept going
we were trying cart . lug. makki. razor. rag. squid so I decided on about 7 lug on there own .......the bait wasn't in the water a couple of minutes and rod had 1 thump and slack line as I reeled in to it I knew it was a goodun my rod was thumping away and kompressor bending all over got it to the side and my wing man was saying it's a beauty it seemed ages before he got it out of the swells and over the railings
Buzzing and still am lol a lovely PB Cod of 7lb 03ozs I was dancing about in the rain like an idiot but who cares

I wish you a merry xmas and well done on the PB. I enjoy reading your posts and am pleased to see you got a good reward for the soaking. Keep posting and keep fishing it is worth it when you get a good fish and it makes people turn out when they see others getting good fish. All the best. Roker is my best spot as I always feel comfortable on the pier.
