CANNYLINKS FEEDBACK

Alan you were nearly right, I dont think there is such a place as East Yorkshire its actually North Yorkshire, I was fishing the cliff top between Cowbar (Staithes) and Boulby, the cliffs vary in hieght from about 100ft and 300-350 ft. It can be fantastic fishing but if you get into a big fish you do have a struggle getting it up(not for the faint hearted or weak armed). ;) Fished there the other night and got a nice 4lb\'er but also snagged two big lumps of kelp, I thought my arms were going to break by the time I got it to the top.

tala I\'ve never done any cliff fishing before,do you just use a decent rock rod and reel and hope for the best.

Hi alan, I make do with what I\'ve got which are a highlander, nemesis plus combined with abu 9000 and a slosh30 and a lot of elbow grease.
The lads at flamborough, fish the cliff tops with ali poles about 15-20ft long with what looks like the biggest boat reel you could ever imagine.
It can be very hard work but it can also be worth it, if you get that really big fish you have two choices:-1)cut your line and kiss it goodbye, 2) tie your line off to a sand spike or something and walk round at low water to collect it. Other people fish them differently to me, but its all about choice ;)

If anyone\'s thinking about ordering some from Paul, but aren\'t too sure if they work.........THEY DO !

I made up some rigs over the weekend for my trip to fish the VERY kelpy areas of the Whitburn coast today and incorporated Pauls \"cannylinks\" into them.

Lost a good few weights today........but thanks to the links, I didn\'t lose much else.

Hi Geoff,
Easy, the work best on a pulley rig, Its a small steel link, (design of which i came up with) that clips on your line, one end holds the weight, the other the baited hook. On impact with the seabed, the link releases both the lead and the hook, simple. read the feedback mate, it will tell yu all the lads are happy with them.
