Alan you were nearly right, I dont think there is such a place as East Yorkshire its actually North Yorkshire, I was fishing the cliff top between Cowbar (Staithes) and Boulby, the cliffs vary in hieght from about 100ft and 300-350 ft. It can be fantastic fishing but if you get into a big fish you do have a struggle getting it up(not for the faint hearted or weak armed).
Fished there the other night and got a nice 4lb\'er but also snagged two big lumps of kelp, I thought my arms were going to break by the time I got it to the top.
