Anyone fished behind the silos at cambos much? looking at fishing there thursday night! can you fish 2 hours either side of the tide or will it still be too far out ?

That fishes best on a big tide to give you some depth and also with a sea on.
On a big tide then 2 and two either side is ok,but, when condations are good you may struggle to find a spot.
It is popular.
The ground is mixed depending on where you fish,a recce at l/w is advisible but apart from one traingular sandy stretch that is roughly about 50 yards down,as in toward the river, from a set of gates on the chain link fence behind you it is rocky.
I would use a rotten bottom,i use a 40 pound main line right through as i have found distance is not needed.
Watch out for the sea defence rocks at the bottom of the "slope",lots of fish are lost there.
I prefer to scramble down to the bottom, watch the waves, and retrieve from there.
Thats broadly it,any more questions just post or PM me.

Hi
You can fish the mark two & half hours either side of High tide, dont be tempted to chuck to far u only need to be 50 - 60yds out best when theres a big sea on, or when its dyeing off. Heres a pic of the mark. Good Luck.

john. :)

Hi M8 i fished there regular yor right about 2 hrs either side if high water, the best place is behind the second silo you will see some old wooden sleeper posts these were built to stop erosion infront of those are huge blocks of stone. this mark used to be called the blocks many years ago and sometimes still is.
you cant go wrong with mussel and crab here about 40 to 50 yds out sometimes people overcast the only problem here is the blocks are snaggy if you get a decent fish:):):)

fished here last month with my son when there was a huge sea on we both lost good fish in the blocks at the bottom, problem is when there is a heavy sea on its just to dangerous to go down and lift the fish.
