A quick reminder that the Bob White Memorial competition is next Saturday, with all proceeds and donations going to St Oswalds Hospice.
Registration is from 6am at the Amble Angling Centre,
Fishing from 8-4 with the weigh in from 4- 5.30 at the fishermans huts, with a filleting service available for a donation.
The comp is split into two categories, inside three miles and outside.
Norma told me there are some smashing prizes and any one wanting further info and to order bait etc just to ring her at the Amble Angling Centre on 01665711200.

I am still keeping an eye on the long ranger but hopefully we will be heading up to Amble on Friday afternoon and staying up at Amble marina until Sunday. If any other Tyne or further South boats fancy joining our convoy let me know.

Graham.

Hi Graham, If I towed my boat up there for the comp, where would I launch, and if I fished inside the 3 mile mark, would I be best going north or south!

Evening Arthur,

There is a launching ramp just upriver from the marina at Amble. I think you just pay a launch fee to the harbour master and there is loads of parking not far from the ramp for your car and trailer.
As for the fishing, inside three miles I would head South and fish the head at Hauxley, the Northern Hills and further South again to Creswell skeers. That's if the water s clear! If its dirty I would be fishing up off the castle at Dunstanburgh. if you are heading up let me know and I will dig some lats and longs out for you.
Weather being good we are going to have a shot at the Farne deep wrecks, fingers crossed!

Graham.

if i could predict the weather to be great for the weekend i'd have a crack at it, be good to fish a different area

but no doubt the weather will let me down..

Thanks for the imfo Graham. If the forecast is ok, I will be fishing it. I guess it will be a heaviest fish comp, so would appreciate a couple of longs and lats.

Easyfish1, would you tow your boat Rob, as it would be a canny run up in the boat!

looking forward to stretching the legs on the new catamaran (lucky lady) but kinda prayin for nee rain otherwise the driver (me) is ganna get a tad wet. the helm is a bit exposed to say the least!!

we fished out of Amble yesterday on the Al Sharaq and headed up north to Cresswell/Dunstanborough!! plenty of cod caught With the biggest 9.5lb!!

Just spoke to Norma and the competition is definitely on for tomorrow.
Change of plan for us and we are going to sail from the Tyne and then either drive up to the weigh in or steam up depending on where we are.
Just pm'd you my phone number Arthur for the info you were after if your fishing it;).

Graham.

Graham, boundries for comp are, south Blyth (55 - 11) and north Beadnell (55 -55) no limits to east! hope we all get out and back ok. Forecast seems to change by the hour.

Will I bother or not, it looks soooo iffy at the moment:confused: Think I'll just get up early and have a look and make a decision then.

Colin, is that 55 11 in minutes or decimal as blyth is 55 06 mm or 55 11 in decimal??

slightly confusing as newbiggin is 55 11 minutes.

just so we are clear on the boundaries we will be fishing in!!

still touch and go due to the weather.

cheers

its ok Colin, i have just changed the units to decimal on my gps software and it lines up with 55 55 for beadnell and 55 11 for blyth.

cheers,

might see you tomorrow!
