well just been informed that the 29 stone was actually 39 that was sold at market this included 2 boxes of bass yess BASS.3 boxes of pollock yes POLLOCK.the rest was cod yes COD.
the rest of the haul which did not go to market was half the 39 stone and that was sold privetly.
he the owner has just returned from working away and intends on setting the nets again tonight 9.1.08.
as with the quota system i agree and disagree but thats the government for you.untill this is sorted out this overfishing will just continue.movibg on to the pots well speaking to some of the boats who do this for a living reported they were getting good catches of fish from the pots,so this will also have a detrimental affect on us all.if tim insists on this sort of overfishing thats his proogative but needs to be carefull as stated in another post by another user this is were he gets his wage from.
he also stated catch and release as did some others,bag limits and the like.
look at one of the opens last year they had a flatty limit on and size limit for the flats.what happened was they lost the match anglers,they didnt want to fish with that in place.
look what happened at the sea-league finals which was catch and release with recordings.
an angler from this area marked and signed another anglers card from down south,then when he returned home 2wks latter he receaved a letter with the results.guess what yes your right the points he had marked had gone up from 30 points to 42 points.a 12 point difference.this was taken up with the guy in charge who told thie angler from up here that he must of missed calculated the points.after further investigation the angler from down south had 12 points deducted from his score card.
