Lot people think there rubbish, but then are they catching fish with them.I ve had Double shots of Smooth Hounds 6lb to 7lb each and just reeled them in without a problem, along with rays all summer.Started with one now have pair for the beachs.

Lovely reel, very docile but will put a bait a long way. I did my first 200 metre cast with mine on the field. Use it for most of my fishing, great for clean beach work, like Raptor I've had smuts to 6lb on it, used it last night on the Hall beach in a good sea fishing at range and pulled in codling after codling no worries.

Love mine, had a couple since they came out. I've had pollock to 8 1/2lbs from the Beacons, double shots of 4lb codlings off the beach and had no problems whatever - I think they're a lot tougher than people give them credit for, especially once the pinion-support that I got from Blakdog was fitted. Only thing they lack a bit is lifting power - I struggle to winch up anything over 3lb from a pier, but then handballing is usually a far better option anyway.

Lovely to cast (with baits) - no idea what they're like on the field as I've no interest in flinging sinkers over grass.

Cracking little reel, cast smooth and have some pulling power, would put it better than the abu 6500's as a fishing reel.

bought myself a new on from id ,ive bought a set of Ceramic Bearings abec 5 and the Pinion Support Pin from black dog.ill see how i get on with it
