penn 515 mag 2 vs abu 6500 premium mag elite

Hey guys i'm looking for a new reel that will mostly be used on beaches and piers so mostly clean ground then maybe the odd session on some roughish ground but I have a slosh for that if needed. My question really is what reel out of the penn 515 mag 2 and a abu 6500 premium mag elite would be best for my needs? I know the penn has a great retrieve rate but I got a green abu mag elite a few months back and love how easy to use they are so i'm sort of swinging towards them whats you thoughts and opions on both? cheers

Some favour penns for there retrieve and being less corrosive , I like abus myself and if you rinse after ever trip they'll last a lifetime , there easy to maintain and are easy to modify , you can also get a hi speed 6500ct mag which are a dream to use on the beach , loads like Penns coz there bulletproof , it's all down to first impressions , have a try of a few .
Abus in my opinion are easier to take apart and put back together .

Abu is a great Reel for Clean Beaches but for Piers & anything else the Penn has to be the winner. Its not the best engineered Reel around but does the job well. Now the Fathom, that's a better Reel altogether imo.

Best give them a try if you get the chance. Both really good reels. Mag 2 525 is a good allrounder but all down to personal choice. You won't be disappointed with either.

the abu high speeds are good reels have the 7000 hs mag yes i no made in china but used a dozen times now cast very well and has pulled in a few mops no probs the 515 is a cracking reel have both not sure yet wants the best
