hello all,
i recently bought a handwarmer of the zippo variety and found that while it did work after some serious attempts to get it going the head bit tend to fall out . it also doesnt seem to get very warm . the handwarmer was left in my pocket and in now way shaken about much just founf it frustrating that twice ive used it and twice the heads come off? is this normal ? or should i take it back to the dealer?

Try not to touch the platinum catalyst, it can be damaged this way. Keep the warmer upright as they work off vapours.

hiya
ive only had mine a couple of weeks and the burner/head is a good tight fit and it gets canny warm. in fact i forgot i had it in my shirt pocket in the house and got a slight burn mark on my chest lol. i would return it if i was you.

google ..... boston hand warmer, a long long way better than a zippo had mine coming on to 3yrs ans never had a proplem with it and it gets really hot and on one fill of lighter fluid last more than 7 hrs

The burners quite a tight fit on the two I have, if yours is slack n falls of then I'd take it back mate.
Oh it gets fairly hot to, it was burning my leg when I put it in teams pocket

the one i got off ebay is a zippo type copy, only payed £6 including postage. The head was slack on it, all i did was nip it with my fingers to make it a tighter fit. I have the same problem as you, as it sometimes seems to go out, then I lay it flat in my pocket and it re-ignites and can get hot, but if returned to an upright position goes cold.:confused: supose you get what you pay for in my case.

I got a zippo one a couple of years ago off flea bay. Had problems using it from the off as it just would not stay lit! My cheaper version from China worked great though.

i got a Zippo for xmas and had problems getting it to light at first, kept trying to light it with a match and it just wouldn't light so I put the gas cooker on and held the handwarmer against the flame for about a minute and that did the trick - it stayed warm for a full 16 hours.

i got myself a zippo lighter at the same time.

uses the same fuel and i find you need a decent flame to get the handwarmers going.
