OMG where did you get the info from ,this could be disasterous, It\'s our favourite beach as well ,can\'t believe it . Thanks for the info black!

if you KNOW for sure 100% get a fermenting barrel and fill it a 3rd full of water ,then half knock in 6 inch nails all round the drum as it \"rolls \" out to Sea it will pick up the net and totally wreck it- only to be used if you are 100% that nets are close in - a trick i once read that rival chinese trawlermen did -but they would have used something other than a fermenting barrel. cheers all ;)

ok whos he ? netting the beaches off ,forgive me being a bit thick here but why, who,how far inshore etc
details for us slow folks ? :exclam:

Well that should finish the bass of once and for all

I suppose if they are still there at the weekend and anyone gets the boat out we could have a \'mishap\' and accidentley break through em

Are they gill netters heather?? if so a phone call to Allendale estates should get shut of them as they bought out all the licences from the wansbeck to the wear last year to improve the salmon runs

They do it almost every year. Can\'t say about the last couple as I havn\'t been out as much but before that yes. I am sure other shore anglers must have seen nets the whole length of the beach.

Jim.

We\'ve got a personal catch report area to help each other, makes you wonder if its worth it,yes you\'re right Jim seen them in the past but it does make you wonder though !
thanks for the info Heather

;) all legal and above board the nets, I shall ask him how far out or in he is dropping them, by the way he is a friend.lol.lol. at least he did tell us he was puting them out from the Sluice to Blyth, as he knows we fish there sometimes, the bugger.

by the way the salmon season is closed.

doesn\'t mak any difference. They bought out all the licences to improve the river fishing in season granted but, the licences are year round, so unless they\'ve let some of the licences go again, there should be no netting at all, at any time of the year. As it happens I\'m seeing a couple of the guys from the Bywell Syndicate late this afternoon (Allendales mob), I\'ll mention it to them and see if they know anything about it.

Although the river salmon fishing season is over, the salmon are still protected for a couple of miles offshore.

Can we not take some form of action against this? Whether the netting is legal or not. Be careful what you post here though!

If he is going to net that entire stretch, then it\'s pretty bad that there\'s no respect or consideration being given to shore anglers. Personally I see it as another reason why I won\'t buy fish in the shops, if the commercial lads are going to f/k up our enjoyment of the sea then I don\'t see why we should help them make a living from it.
