Yellow can

Had a run off to yellow can this afternoon, weather was calm and mild, fishing was poor, only 1 small pouting, so tried a wreck a bit further out, hit it from lots of different angles but, absolutely nowt. Then ran along to the wreck in the mouth of the Tyne, but the wind freshened a little too much and the tide flooding, the line was shooting out the back of the boat, so again, nowt. Never mind, the engine ran smooth and the sun out, enjoyed the run out.:):)

I blank every year on the 1st trip of the season its now tradition :) still i bet as you say its nice to be out and find everything working ok after a hard winter.

no I didn't Keith, it did cross my mind. I've got lures, shads, jelly worms, but always feel confident with bait, be it on rough ground or wrecks, but this year i will make the effort to use them.

It's a confidence thing , they definitely do work , but until you actually catch on them when bait is producing poor results it's hard to switch from one to the other. It's easy when the fish are taking anything to catch on lures , it dosen't build your confidence in them though , once you have a day where lures outfish anything else you will give them the same amount of time as baits to produce a fish , only after that will they become an equall part of your armoury . I love em! :)
