Wreck on fire Sunday 3.April

Now that came very unexpected after we totally blanked last Tuesday...only 4 days ago...

However...it started again very slow on the usual classic wrecks at 6-7 miles out..

It anyway came as a nice April surprise to bring a nice ling on board

5lb or so...nothing huge. It carried on very slow and also the very little tide meant we stayed almost stationary over the wrecks.

Then we saw Allans JFK2 standing on the 4mile wrecks and seagulls circled him like vultures...mmmh....maybe the inshore wrecks produce.

We went to an old favourite wreck, bang on the 4 miles and about 1/2 south of where Allan fished .

From the off, we brought cod and ling up, double hookups and even a triple

Glorious weather....nice to see Allan in Sunderland waters....and all that rewarded with around 20 cod and ling between the 2 of us.

The biggest was a nice ling of just under 8lb

We declare the season OPENED !!! :D:)

Cheers for the report & Nice 1 lads - The guys on 'On a Roll' had a canny day also - Good to see the fish are starting to show - hopefully a good season ahead for all of us.:thumbup::thumbup:

Cracking report and some decent fish for you there, good early season session.

Good company with the great Wasabi! Classic spring day, small onshore to start and grey skies, then opened up with sunshine and great fishing, once we hit a hotspot.

ROLL ON SUMMER. LING IN APRIL?

Made all the season preparation worth it. You know the score, cleaning, maintenance, engine parts, engine servicing, anti-fouling, boat out,

Boat in and on pontoon, petrol sorted, alderney rigged, boat stocked, bait bought, things adjusted..

Sun shines and fish bite. Really enjoyed it today.
