me kela66 and noel fished our club match last night. i spent the whole day pulling my hair out trying to work out where to go as conditions weren't ideal. i thought about the river but after the big one that was caught last night i thought there's got to be something decent about. we decided on whitley beach on a mark im getting to know quite well now. the first couple of hours were dead not even a bite between us then kela pulled in a undersize coalie and a couple of minutes later noel got a undersize codling, another half hour or so passed and still nothing for me
then i had a tiny bite and brought a blank saving rockling in
. not long after the rockling i got a cracking bite so i picked the rod up and bang it went again so i struck it, yes good fish i said, the rod was bent double coming in nicely then bang it was off
.when i got my trace in it was all tangled so i think the fish was just hanging on then let go, so i quickly baited up and put it straight in the same place and no more than 2 minutes had passed and i got another canny bite, picked the rod up and this one was on, came in nicely weighing 2lb1oz
. i also managed a small codling which went back to fight another day. kela also managed a rockling and noel got a rockling and this little fella, which i was pleased to see as ive never seen one before
he went back to fight another day.
when i got back to the club H.Q dave hayley had blanked as did marty, now i was thinking im in with a chance here.
no one else weighed in so i'd won the match

dave hayley was fishing the rocks at tynemouth and the coastguard came to rescue him as 2 members of the public phoned them and said there's a guy on the rocks with a torch. he wasn't in any danger but its nice to know those guys are there if you need them.
kela will be putting the pic up of my codling later.
