Many thanks to all who turned out today - fishing was generally patchy meaning that in the end everyone who weighed in won a prize, but there were a few nice fish kicking around. Here's the full result:

Where did all the fish come from? I fished St marys and had 1 out but didnt bother with the weigh in as it was only 1lb 1oz.

dint say beadnel cos thats where i was gonna go

Beadnell point threw up the heaviest fish for Ian, Kenny Robinson & Dave Milne got their fish from Howick (which would have been my first choice, but I fished Newbiggin so I could get back in plenty time for the weigh-in).

It was pretty tough everywhere - I was really expecting better catches after the sea had been away a couple of days earlier, but all day long my phone was really quiet and those reports coming through weren't encouraging. At the end of the day though at least everyone who caught something (if they came back lol!) got a prize, and those juniors who didn't catch were also given a pick of the table at the end.

I heard from our treasurer earlier today that despite me budgeting for 200 anglers we still managed to just break even (thanks to the raffle for the slosh 30) and also raise £100 for the Evening Chronicle Sunshine Fund, so once again I'd like to thank all who took part. I'd also like to thank our sponsors, especially the lads at Greys who gave us a great deal on our prizes; also to Simon at Lewis Tackle (who kindly donated £50 of vouchers for the Junior prize as well) and John at I.D. for the additional tackle - it enabled me to really boost the prize table compared to the previous few years & I think those that were at the presentation really appreciated it. Thanks also to Alan at the Bankhouse club for accommodating us - we hope to be back again next year.

Now that the headache of organising it is over I'm looking forward to being able to fish the next one properly lol! - roll on 2nd October & the Newbiggin open.

Thanks again lads (and Pauline!)

Gary :)
