Which Reel ?

I will be looking at getting some new tackle and unsure which type of reel to go for. Best option for beach work and have not bought a sea reel in years. Want to gor for a decent multiplier, but what make and model ???

id go for a penn 525 mag,great reels,and you can pick up second hand ones canny cheap!

If you can afford a new reel go for an Avet SX 5.3 MC.
Best reel on the market.
You can now get them from Rok-Max UK for about £175

Cheers fellas, just goes to show how long I have been out of the game. I was looking at the names I knew, Abu Garcia and Daiwa lol.

If you go for the akios you get the same as an Abu quality but with up to date technology, you won't go wrong

For beach id defos say akios shuttle or 7ht allday long

525 mags a good all rounder. Slosh 30 for the rough stuff. That's my preference anyways.

I use blue elites mate and love them, perfect for clean/mixed ground. Also the 7ht's, there's the standard 7ht, turbo or mag. Iv'e got the turbo but i think the mag has a faster retrieve plus the mag control of course

Buy a Penn mag or a Sl20sh, you wont be disappointed with either and more than capable for what you want. You can find them second hand either on the for sale section here or gumtree. Expect to pay somewhere between £40-£70 depending on the condition.
