fished shields peir 44 friday. got there at 10 set up greys orion 6500 ct c3 + ron thompson accellerator 7000 ct. first 2 hours nothing then small codling put back. got to 2 oclock and decided to try 1 in the river and 1 in the sea. watching 1 then the other for 10 mins then heard the clatter and turned round and ran, too late my greys &6500 c3 dissapeared into the sea. quickly ran back and reeled in the other. after 25 mins of casting and retreaving nothing so decided to carry on fishing with 1 rod resulting with a flatty then another within an hour. 10 to 4 tide going out decided to give it a huge chuck to the left, 10 mins in and tap tap then tap tap tap so picked up rod and started reeling yes fish i said reeling then halfway in rod bent and bloke next to me shouted line. got 14 inch rockling in and i thought somebodies line. put rod down and started handballing line in got on the wall looking down and hey presto up it popped my greys orion & 6500 c3 ct. got it in reeled line in complete with hook & sinker. MY GREATEST CATCH EVER ps thanks to the bloke next to me for holding line while i put my rod down cheers mate.
