well, forecasts look to be against us a little, however, I think it may just not be as they predict ....... theres a lot of "not sure" around the weathermen (and women) which is a good indication of a weather system above us just not quite moving therefore it depends on which way it finally decides to move ......
for us ..... well , its all steam ahead and get to the piers and THEN decide ... fingers crossed....
good luck all if you get out .......

ps ray, sounds like cresswell is coming good .......

I like these threads as they help me as to wether I'll get out or not. I looked at the sea tonight and it was flat. Wish it was the same at the weekend.

Cresswell seems to be lifting with fish at the minute Norman , ;) I'm going to have a look out over the weekend too , but I might not get down as far as Creswell if the wind is wrong , it's a long drive back in a lumpy sea .
Upholder had a couple of fish just south of the island , so if the weather is a bit iffy I'll stick close by there and it's an easy get back in if I'm not happy (assuming i manage to get past the piers in the first place)
I'm quite fortunate in that I can go whenever the weather is good so if it's pants at the weekend the next decent day will see me back out there.
It's still not easy though , I've missed days that were lovely flat seas because all the reports said otherwise and turned back from the piers on other days when it should have been good , it's not as easy as it looks this boating lark lol.
It helps when there's a local forum with local knowledge like NESA though , I'm off to a flier thanks to your knowledge of the Amble fishing Norman :)
Just need some nice calm seas now and we can all have a proper go at them.

Ray.

Good luck with it then Ray ,Norman will keep you right I'm sure ,he always seems to find the fish ;).

How's the Essox fishing going anyway ?

MET now says straight east upto 17mph for Sat but sw 14mph for Sunday

Think i will pop my head out on Sat and Sunday will be a proper trip out...still as the Stingray theme tune goes..."anything can happen in the next few minutes" not like i have downloaded it for the cd player in the boat :)

I've not been pike fishing for nearly a year Steve , I'm bessotted with this boat fishing for cod and stuff , it's all new and exiting and challenging and so unpredictable. I am thinking of going coarse fishing this weekend , or get the fly rods out and have a go at the stockies , if the weather isn't right for the boat. I'll let you know if I do have a go at them though.
