Go to a shoe repair shop and just buy a rubber walking stick end
The proper name for them is ferrules

I think wilkinsons sell them 19mm and 25mm for walking sticks and cost less than a couple a quid I use the smaller size for the butt of my rod tips when carrying the rod in half so the bottom of the tip doesn't get battered on the pier before setting up.
