well I fished my club match here yesterday , with in first 5 mins had a tremendous bite pick rod up it went again struck on it and thought to myself good start as it seemed a bit weighty , not to be though as it was a just under size belly hooked coli , anyway got it back safe and cast out again and another bite a just under codling this time , after that the weed showed tide pulling hard rod was bent over a lot , specially when the weed was on, wellfor the next couple of hours weed ,or small codling most casts , however was worried bout my rod getting pulled in and then a had a brain storm a converted my bike and inner tube into a secure rod restraint (see pic) well as the weed eased I started getting bites more regular again mostly little fat coddies about 30 --32 till a I got a real stonking bite, picked the rod up it bit a gain and bang it was on thinking this is ok but alas there were 2 on 1just under and 1 which weighed in at 1lb.14oz and few more cast and a few more little un the match was over and back for weigh in canny day pity not more sizable fish well that's the way it goes

if not for the weed and undersize fish it could been a different story , but that s fishing every day is different and that s what like about it, so diverseat least you where kept busy and your got rewarded with a keeper
I fished friars goose today and the amount of weed in the river was unbelievable all fish where just under size

ano but with the big tide not really fancy the pier so opted for walkway for me match
