Virus warning

Be alert during the next few days: Don't open any message with an attached file called "Invitation", regardless of who sent it. It's a virus that opens an Olympic Torch that "burns" the whole hard disk of your computer. This virus will come from someone who has your e-mail address; that's why you should send this e-mail to all your contacts. It's better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus

DON'T open it and shut down your computer immediately . This is the worst virus announced by CNN, it's been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. The virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there's no repair yet for this particular virus. It simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disk, where vital information is kept.

Also:- Emails with pictures of Osama Bin-Laden hanged are being sent and the moment you open these emails your computer will crash and you will not be able to fix it! This e-mail is being distributed through countries around the globe, but mainly in the US and Israel. Don't be inconsiderate; send this warning to whomever you know. If you get an email along the lines of "Osama Bin Laden Captured" or "Osama Hanged" don't open the attachment.

:D

god, us Mac users are smug bastards at times like this!

20 years using a Mac:

number of viruses suffered - nil
number of spyware apps - nil
number of malware apps - nil

why do people still lumber along with windows?

I posted the same warning a while back ,got it in an E mail from my mate ,posted on here and was told the same thing Alan .

it amazes me, i posted the info in good faith and sent it to who i thought might appreciated the information. But some by their e mailed answers did not appreciate me sending it to them as they knew it was or most prodably was a hoax. Next time i will miss them out.

don't blame you alan. I'd do the same, there's no pleasing some people!

for what its worth, I get a 'heads-up' quite often from guys I used to work with in the states, rumours abound that a new version of the 'so-big' virus that caused a lot of devastation a couple of years back is on its way...

Alan, I for one would prefer to receive such warnings even if they are bogus. At least if I was forwarned I would know what to look out for. You can put me in any list you have to send these to in the future.

Chaps, I didn't mean to sound dismissive of the warning I was just passing on what I'd found. I appreciate the warnings keep em coming. No offence intended.

Alan, and all, rest assured when the day comes that "the worst virus to hit" gets here, it too will be dismissed as a hoax, . . . . . until the day after and everyone realises it`s all too late ................... thats why it`ll be the worst ever ! ....... feel free to keep warnings coming "just in case" .
