Been looking at these two models lads, are they similar in action found a lot of differing views whilst searching.Fish the Tyne a lot,but would also use it for rough ground if im down the coast, cheers chaps.

T Rock is not a rock rod, Appollo is!! Simples

I ve had both and the Appollo is one of the best fishing rods for the NE coast. Powerful, sensitive and with decent bite detection for a rock rod.

AFAW T Match is a superb rod, but the T Rock seems a bit dead in comparison due to the lower quality butt section. Dont get me wrong they are a decent rod and cast well. If it was my money I would get a discounted Appollo mk3 or bite the bullet and get an M427.

I have got the apollo mark 3 first one i got snapped and after all I heard about the mark 2's snapping i thought maybe the mark 3's were going to have the same problem but to be fair i haven't heard of anymore snapping so maybe i was just unlucky and it was a one off. I have had the new one for about 1 and a half seasons and i love it, low diameter, light, strong and good bite detection the epoxy on the whippings is starting to show some cracking but this rod gets used pretty much twice a week and some times i throw out 7oz leads so its to be expected.

just got myself a AFAW hybrid off a guy on Ebay, tournament rock butt section and rock tip section, havent had the chance to use it yet but i will let you know what its like in the next few weeks hopefully.

Thanks lads, decision time.Saw that rod your on about jamie, hope it picks you a few fish up lol not that there`s out to catch at the moment.

I'd go with what 'CHUKKA' said mate.

I myself use an apollo Mk3, and it is a great rod to fish with. It has plenty of power and good bite detection. Also, its certainly alot cheaper than the AFAW tournament rock.

The only downside is the highbuild that greys use, it cracks with the slightest knock.

Ive also been looking at the latest rods on the market, the Reelsport 'Rockmaster' and the 'Mighty Thin'. My money is saving for one of them (the rockmaster), its perfect for the rocks.

They are available now at Reelsport.
