Thornback

So i`m going to have a week or long weekend in Dumfries and Galloway in September and want to catch a fish i`ve not caught before, namely thornback ray. Anyone give me a clue as to best marks and baits please, and maybe what rigs to use. thanks in advance.

great fishing to be had over there mate LUCE BAY ISLE OF WHITHORN you will not struggle to find marks at these places makee lasks are good bait for thorns and troublesome dogfish look up wire snoods and traces you will need for thornies good luck :thumbup:

The most reliable mark I have found is the flat rock at Balcary fishing up from low water. Small Sandeel and Bluey wraps. Just a simple long pulley rig will be fine.
