Anybody else had probs with Telewest today?

No phones.....no cable TV......no \'net ???

Just came back on line 15 mins ago.

Wasn\'t a total waste of time though.......been coming up with an idea for a possible NESA calendar for next year.

What I need is some of ya best pix to include in the calendar.
They\'ll need to represent a particular month.....so something appropriate, please.

You can send them to the e-mail address at the bottom of my posts.

This is the sort of thing I\'ve been thinking about.......

The box over on the left will contain the dates and the space under the pic could have a bit of info about the location.

Not makin\' any promises, but I\'ll see what can be done about getting the finished thing printed up properly.

Lol Bri,
They don\'t HAVE to be from this year, if you\'ve got any pix from previous years that you think might fit the bill, send \'em.
It would be nice to have pix from this year if poss, though.

Absolutley anywhere where there\'s a NESA member Stuart.

Can you e-mail me the pic, please as it\'s a bit on the small side on here.

Quite like your Harbour Sunrise taken from the little beach at South Shields, think it was your photo Tony if not I\'ll email it to you and someone can claim it,excellent photo.

This one, Alan?........

If so, aye...it\'s one of mine.

Prefereably, I\'d like to have 12 pix from different people.....that way nobody can be accused of hogging all the photos.......lol

You\'re right, Bri....there have been some corkers posted......that\'s the sort of thing I\'m after. Remember though, ALL the pix used must be the work of the person submitting it and not \"borrowed\" from somewhere else.....as the name of the person who took the photo will also be on the calendar.

Lol Jim......appearences can be decptive :exclam:

Further along the beaach, I got stopped by 3 brass monkies.....they were asking if I knew a good welder......lol :o

Ian has a photo that he took looking back toward tynemouth from the end of the pier. I will dig it out and post it, cos i reckon it is a good picture (not that I am biased or anything like that ye knaa)

Tony i have a few nice pics\'are you on broadband? so i can send them in original size or do you want them shrunk?

Ideally Gordon, I\'d prefer all the photos to be 300dpi and have a width of around 3200 pixels......HOWEVER......this gives an image size of around 28Mb !

I\'ve already had about 8 photos sent to me tonight and boy am I glad they weren\'t THAT SIZE........LOL.

As I\'m expecting to recieve a lot of images, the \"ideal\" size is not really practical.......so.......image sizes (please all take note):-

If you\'re SCANNING a PRINT to send me, then these are the best workable dimensions.......

A 6\" X 4\" print scanned at 300dpi will give you an image of around 6Mb. Save the image as a \"high quality\" jpg. This should give you an file of around 2 or 2.5Mb. Attach the the jpg your e-mail and send it to me.

If you\'re sending photos from a DIGITAL camera.......
Shoot the photo as near to 300dpi as your camera will allow (some only go to 230dpi.....but that\'s enough).
Once you\'ve got your photo downloaded to your computer, resize the image to roughly the same as the dimensions mentioned above for scanned prints. That should give you the same (or near enough) size image as mentioned above (i.e. around 6Mb). Again, save it as a \"high quality\" jpg which should give the image a file size of around 2 or 2.5Mb.....send the jpg to me.

NOTE:

6\"X4\" equates to around the following values

Width 15cm
Height 10cm

OR

Width 1740 pixels
Height 1180 pixels

Great idea! Great pictures! Can\'t wait to see the end product. Not brilliant with a camera so prob won\'t be able to contribute :( Quite good at losing cameras though.
