Sunderland marathon

Just a timely reminder that it is the run this Sunday around Sunderland and the roads will be closed around the marina between 8.00 and 16.15, depending upon the road.

You will need to get there early and prepare to stay all day if travelling by car.

In case anyone is going to have a run upriver on the day there is a Zip wire from the bridge to the south side. Only restrictions on the water is when they are setting up / taking down the wire as the wire will be in the water so Patrol (or 'event safety boat' .. great call sign ) will be stopping people passing for the safety of your motors!

Patrol boat will be out as normal and there is a second boat covering the zip wire.

I'm on the event safety boat so if anyone is passing spare a thought that I'm working from 07:00 till 18:00 so feel free to bring me (and work mate) sausage sarnies and tea
