Sugar Sands, once you get through the farm yard gate and then second one and onto the grass at the top of the small cliff, this bay is the Howdiemont Sands, turn right (south) on the track takes you to Longhoughton Steel, good shot at low water follow the outflow pipe out onto the steel keeping it on your right, fish into the gully. Turn left (north) along the track to the second bay park at the top of the cliff this is the Sugar Sands the north end skear's fish as does the beach, like all marks, weather and tide dependent . Keep on going and you will come to a small bay with a concrete walkers bridge over Howick Burn, never fished it, such along walk but could be worth it.

Here is what JV has to say on it mate hopefully this will help you.
Knacker hole, Beadnell, Northumberland. This has to be one of the best low water winter marks Northumberland has to offer. I have caught cod to 8lb here, seen good bags caught and heard of even larger cod from the hole. Fish here in darkness during a big Southerley sea, you will find Beadnell point will protect you from the worst of the rough weather. Either cast short into the middle of the hole, it is fairly deep and kelpy here or cast longer towards the Farne islands lighthouse, here you will be on mixed ground.
When fishing near the end of the skeer care needs to be taken because you can get cut off around two or three hours into the flood tide, the cut off point is roughly three quarters of the way along the skeer, keep an eye on your route back off! If you do not get any fish during your first few casts move to another gully.
Directions: Park your car on the coast road that leads towards Beadnell harbour, just before the large white house on the seaward side and walk around the edge of its garden, it's not far to walk, from here you will see the hole, fish on the right hand side skeer in the photograph.
Are you sure this is the Knacker Hole?
Fished here last night and the lad i was fishing with thought the Knacker Hole was to the left of the White house. I asked my dad who has lived up there all his life and when he saw the pic he said it was the Lady Hole. If you check the ordanance survey maps they also say the Knacker is to the left of the house and the Lady is to the right. My dad showed me some very old maps and they also confirm this.

99% sure its Knacker hole from this map
Same map my dad has up in house and if you follow the roads on map it seems to put Knacker Hole to left of White Rock(White House).
The bit i've circled looks like the stone bay where the boats come in next to sea wall.

I agree with your dad that the one in the photo is lady hole because of the grass bank in the forground.
On the map you can see the skeer that runs from the shore diagnally across the nacker hole.
The fact that you can get cut off on either skeer doesn't help either.
I reckon both will produce in the right conditions (and when I'm not there)
