Hi All,

Big tides today so thought we'd try anchoring over some hard ground. We fished around the Yellow Can, close in St. Mary's and Cullercoats using live peeler crab and lugworm on flowing traces.

The catch was slow but a good day was had relaxing waiting for a rod tip to go and stuffing ourselves with unhealthy stuff such as bacon and sausage sandwiches......ah the bliss of uptiding.....roll on the winter!!

1. 10 x Cod up to 4lbs, ( one fish lost on surface that was 6-7lbs)
2. 4 x Coalfish up to 2.5lbs
3. 1 x Wrasse to 2lbs
4. 2 x Whiting to 2lbs

We also took some time to spin for mackeral of which there were plenty.

Saw a couple of boats out today drifting past us at a speed which surely couldn't have anything but mackeral.

The weekend is looking good so we're not sure whether to go bait fishing again or persevere with the wrecks. What do you all think?

Cheers,
Jeff.
