just thought i would let you know how i got on yesterday the14th well i didnt get out till half 3 but the weather was fantastic and the sea was lovely tried for some mackrell just off the pier end and i got a 4lb cod 1st drop no sign of mackrell so i moved 3 mile off 2 a wreck 2nd drop i got a 5lb cod then as soon as i droped back down my rod was bent double when i got it to the top it was a 10lb 4oz cod and underneath it was a 8lb cod not bad for the first trip off the season we ended up with 9 cod the smallest was 4lb and a 3lb 6oz coalie but no mackrell we were only out for 3 and a half hours so not a bad day

all fish were taken on green hokias baited with squid and an orange jigger baited with squids heads
