Thought I'd give Cowbar a bash at low water seing as there was a rough sea the day before and plenty of colour in the water. Nothing from Cowbar despite using peeler.

Moved around to the next gully and had a smalll fish that I've never seen before to peeler - best way to describe it was a cross between a wolf fish/catfish and a scorpian fish. It wasn't happy...it was biting anything that was near it! It was only about 6 inches long as well. If anbody has any ideas what it was I'd be interested.

I then decided to fish from the jetty...big mistake! On the way there I slipped on some very slimey scar and landed on my SLOSH 30 and Century WR300: Result 1 new part needed for the reel, a new diamite tip needed for the rod and a 100 mile premature trip back to Barnsley

Hi Mike, have a look on the net for a fish called father lasher, have heard rumours that one or two of the ugly buggers have been caught around there in the past.

Cheers, but that wasn't it Tal. It really was the shape of a wolf fish but without the stripes and the dorsal and pectoral fins appeared to be spikey.

We have a winner! Nice one Sless.

I looked at the photo and the colour was wrong, but it does say that adult ones are grey and black, which the one that I caught was.

Cheers Ell. They're easy to fix - just glad I didn't do myself any real damage.
