Went out fishing 4 the first time this year. Fished scarborough hole on fri night with 2 of my mates, caught a codling around 2 1/2lb first chuck. Never fished there before and to be honest only seen it at a distance untill up close in the dark. Anyone know the crack on fishing there?? I'm sure we were in the right place as there were a couple of other lads down but it didn't seem to deep

Where you at the southern most point of the beacons chukin into the bay at low water stewy ?its more of a kelp bed than a deep hole best fished on a low tide with a south easterly

Cheers Fishfinder. yeah, think so. The bay cuts right back to the shore and you can walk alongside it towards the sea. We were fishing prob just past 3/4 away along towards the point of the bays entrance to the sea, casting into the bay. Only using lug and squid and casting about 60yards. Any reason of thought why it fishes best in them conditions and is it a productive area?

Ive found it very productive..favourite shot at the beacons you have to fish it on a good tide as the bay doesn't empty on smaller tides leaving you pushed way back up the rocks.
I always find it fishes best on the flood and the tide comes in quick think it fishes best on a south easterly as the swells running towards you and the outer carrs seem to take the brunt of it heavy tackle loss here due to the thick kelp your chuckin into.
The white holes is the mark on the opposite side of the bay another good shot.. there's been a few doubles caught there this year. And apparently fishes best after a northerly haven't fished it that many times and as of yet haven't caught from there but have seen some good fish caught .just not by me lol

Cheers. The reason why i thought it must be deep was because of the hole in the name. Didn't really know what we were fishing into just seen my mates losing gear as i was managing to escape! LOL

If you look at the top pic in the sea state section /newbiggin post..thats looking at the scarborough hole you can see the outer carrs in the distance and you can just see the kelp in the middle on a good tide at low water you can see the extent of the kelp beds
