Fished the prom at the north end of Whitley a gain and caught another flattie a bit over a pound. Can't remember the last time I got one and then I get three in two sessions lol. A few rods out both on the prom and the boat house but no other fish.

Jim you are getting as good as me and the twins at catching flatties - leave some for us lol! The boys are getting sick of being off school (they don't go back till next Monday) so Ray is taking them out fishing either tomorrow night or Saturday. I might manage a couple of chucks but think I will go along in my role as Gaffer and just tell them what to do lol! Haven't worked out where to go yet....any ideas anybody?????

Mmmmmm!
Maybe some marks are getting a bit overfished?
I would say that behind the Boathouse is one of my favourite marks - BUT- if you're in the area - never disregard West Bay at St Mary's - another of my favourites. Most anglers head for either Crisps Gulley or behind the lighthouse leaving West Bay as 'vigin territory'! Always remember - cast towards the shore. How's that for sharing knowledgs!!!! Blue Peter Badge, pleaase????!!!!

Almost forgot !!!!! There are 3 distinct holes at West Bay which is fishable at least the last 4 hours of the ebb. Easy rock edge fishing - no guarantees of course - but at least you will be where most aren't! PS watch out for car parking charges!!!!

Lol Ali I will try to leave them all for you. We are out tomorrow night also but not sure where yet. We were talking tonight about Newbiggin prom. That is quite an easy mark to fish but it pays to go with someone that knows it as it can sometimes be a bit on the dodgy side on certain sea's.
Paul, John from Frazers was at the boat house also mate. Not sure if he had gone before you got there though.
Hedley, you are dead right about it being an easy rock mark mate. I used to fish there quite a bit. We fished there a few weeks ago and not a single bite wetween us. We were gutted as there was a cracking sea running.
You don't just watch out for the parkiing fee's along there any more. The boy racers are along almost every night doing handbreak turns and flying about like idiots.

The weed was a bit bad at times mate yer dead right but it was mainly close in.
Ali I think Blyth pier might be a bit busy tomorrow night but the river might be a good idea as you say Paul. Alan had his son up there earlier in the week and they got a few fish between them.

We have been down there a fair bit - it is great for the kids, safe and its not too far away if the kids get bored. Only problem is the idiots with their cans of beer.........not too much of a problem if Ray is there too as he is 6'6"and they tend to leave us alone if he is around lol! . Last time I was down I caught 5 codling in about an hour and all the guys around me had nowt lol!

Nice info Hedley
Ali Blyth harbour is either great or a total waste of time, nothing in between but its worth a look especially if you have a couple of young'uns with you, best fished during a big sea especially a East or South Easterly wind with a swell pushing up the river,I was talking to a couple of lads on Bank Holiday Monday that were fishing down at the harbour they had a few undersize Codling and some Whiting which were in size.
