just got back from a weeks fishing in gambia, absolutely superb holiday although i caught nothing huge. my best was a 6lb 8oz guitar fish (caught on light gear it didn't half go)

caught a load of new species such as stingrays, catfish, butterfish and a multitude of others.
heres another couple of pics of the better fish that were caught incluing the heaviest fish a stinger of 53lb.

the weather was scorching throughout (31 to 35c), already planning another expedition there next year, can't wait to get back.

its actually not too expensive, just over £500 for the week and then around £250 to £400 for spending money. i don't drink or smoke so i just put £20 a week away and i'm sorted, well well worth it, something to look foreward to during the long winter nights.

Don't mean to put a dampner on yer trip Mick - but you really should learn to hold a fish properly if you're gonna return it! Holding a fish the way you are in the pic is putting an awful strain on it..all it's internal organs are being forced down towards it's head! Next time, try taking your other hand and supporting the fish under it's belly. I know some species are dodgy to hold in Gambia - but guitars should prove no problem. Talk to you soon in Andy's mate. Glad you had a good time..(maybe Nosworthy should take up fishing, cos he can't bloody well play football!!)
