Decided on a shot at st Mary's today so off we went. Arrived at 11 am and decided to have a shot at the concrete pillar. Straight away we had action with plenty of bites but no hook ups. I was varying the casting distance from very far out to 20yard lobs and all distances were showing fish. 4 casts in and I'm into a fish only for it to come off on the retrieve. So it was float time and 1st chuck I caught a lovely wrasse on ragworm weighing around 1lb.

Simon was still struggling and couldn't connect to anything but was still getting bites.
The tide had started flooding and decided on a move into crisps gulley and 1st chuck sees me into a lovely red codling

Whilst I had the big rod out I had another try with the float and again I was straight into another 3 fish although small I was still catching. Pollock lovely copper coloured fish. Unfortunately I don't have a picture. The wind was now really strong and hasn't had much action as water neared the top. We headed home and made the decision to wade across the causeway and back to the car.
Again Simon still hasn't aught anything but enjoyed being out.
