im torn in between whether or not to fish shields pier on friday for mackeral coz the wind speed is gonna be around 17mph and a bit a rainy aswell, could anyone tell me if its worth fishing there on friday or not, the weather may change, i dont no.. cheers

if its persistering down, shields pier might be a lot more attractive as it might keep some of the numpties away!!

yeah thats what i was thinking , ill be there at 7am at sheilds pier anyway, just to get ahead of all the people who dont no what there doin when they fish...there was a lad there the other day using a leeda float rod with daylights and a 3oz weight which i thought was stupid

iii just a little bit wet haha , anyway you never the weather forecast could change, but besides that i want me some mackeral lol...and maybe even a few coalies

how bad is that ? lol i dont no anything about the swells etc...please explain...does that mean waves are most likely to be crashing over the pier haaha>?

id say so mate.. 9.5 ft wave directly onshore with an onshore wind.. i surf at shields beach and that forcast is normally taken to be crap.. they'll just be loads of white water. it might be ok but id have a good look at the end of the pier before going along

oh and the the site i use for my surf forecast has let me down so id definatly take a look on friday to be sure.

Absolutely pointless fishing for mackerel in a heavy northeasterly sea!

Be very suprised if you catch any until it drops off again
