Just a thanks to the lads that yesterday (on here) told me where the best place was to fish on the pier. I headed out today with my daughter's boyfriend who has never fished before. He's asked me loads if we could go fishing sometime, as he's always wanted to go and never been. So today was chosen around his charity work day off and we got to the pier around 11.30am.
He was buzzing with excitment and I set him up with a spinning rod and taught him how to cast. Within about 10 casts he was into a fish, and his face was a picture as he reeled it in as this was to be his first fish. Then after that he ended up in total with 10 mackeral and one launce.
We packed up around 7 tonight after a fantastic day. It's great to see a newbie catch on his first day, and he will remember this day for the rest of his life. the 40 minute car journey home was very quiet with him as he was nearly asleep. His last question to me was when can we go again before thanking me for taken him fishing. I got a couple of pics on his phonewith him with his first fish, so once I have got them I will put them up on here to show you how big a grin he had.
