Fished newbiggen on a rock mark tonight, arrived around 4pm looked perfect for a few fish, set up cast out and straight away i had one codling out just sized, a few casts later my rod pulled over in the stand and the line dropped slack struck into it and connected into a very good fish got it 10 yards from the side and it spat the hook out  next cast another cracking bite which resulted in a nice cod of 5lb 8 ounces which again the fish was only lip hooked, next cast the rod pulled over in the stand this time the bite was different to the others instead of dropping me slack the rod bent over and kept bending to the point where the loop in my bimini twist leader knot snapped :o ... set back up and within seconds of hitting the water i had another bite and slack liner stuck into it and i knew this was a lot bigger than the one i landed i got the fish to the side fighting to get it to the surface but just before i managed to get it to the surface the fish came off! when i got my rig back my 3/0 manta had bent out :o at this point i was sick and was getting pushed off my mark but i knew the fish were still there so i moved to another mark about a 150 yards away from where i was fishing and first cast i got another bite and slack liner but this time something different happened i LANDED the fish weighing 2lb 8 ounces, my mate was waiting for me at the car as he had enough. i baited up with the last of my lug worm and blacks and cast back out for my last cast just before i was about to reel in i got another good bite and connected with another fish .. a few lads next to me were saying " this looks like a better fish" and it felt like it too, i was trying to keep this fish off the bottom as it was fighting hard but after 30 yards or so it managed to fight its way into some rocks and the line snapped  there was a lot of anglers on the mark and i only seen one person with a fish of about 1.5lb. even though i managed 3 fish out i was still devastated about the lost ones .... but that's fishing

Another good report aaran 2 nice fish out better than none

"....but that's fishing" says it all mate! you always do a good report followed with cracking photos mate, well done on the fish caught, unlucky on the one's that got away, from what ive seen you'll make up for it on your next session!!!

Sickening feeling when that happens but three times in one session is unlucky. Don't be disheartened it's still a great session with a lovely fish to take home. Well done :)
